New Delhi: An engineer from Hyderabad, Ravikant Avva, emerged winner in the prestigious World Quizzing Championship 2020, an annual international competition. The competition saw the participation of 668 quizzers from across the world.
Avva, a graduate of IIT-Madras and IIM-Ahmedabad, who is presently working for a multinational company in Singapore, won the first prize recently, his father and retired IAS officer AP Sarma told news agency PTI.
The International Quizzing Association (IQA)-the organized championship was an intense two-hour test this year. The competition tested the quizzer on general knowledge and current affairs.
A total of 240 questions across eight categories, including sciences, history, sports, art, and culture were needed to be answered in the competition.
Avva secured a total score of 159, Sarma, an adviser to the Telangana Governor, informed the news agency.
