ICAR 2025 Counselling: Registration for UG, PG, PhD Admissions In Agriculture And Allied Sciences Begins

The counselling will be held in four rounds and an additional mop-up and final round; the window for choice filling and document uploading closes on October 17 at 11.50 pm.

NEW DELHI: The Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR) will start the online counselling process for admission to undergraduate (UG), postgraduate (PG), and PhD programmes in Agriculture and allied sciences for the academic session 2025-26 on October 14. Candidates can now begin their registration and document upload process.

The counselling will be conducted in four rounds and an additional mop-up and final round. Candidates can check the schedule and register for the counselling at icar.org.in.

Candidates can register for counselling, fill in their choices, pay the counselling fee, and upload the necessary documents from 2 pm on October 14. The window for choice filling and document uploading closes on October 17 at 11.50 pm.

ICAR will display the seat allotment against first round on October 21 and on October 27 for the second round.

The ICAR counselling process is already delayed by two months. The National Testing Agency (NTA), which conducted the entrance test for eligibility to admission to UG, PG, and PhD programmes in agriculture and allied sciences, declared the CUET UG results on July 4.

Initially, the ICAR said it would start the online choice-filling for UG counselling 2025 from October 6, but subject to the completion of bank payment gateway integration.

ICAR will fill 20 per cent of the All India Quota (AIQ) seats across 63 state agricultural universities and 100 per cent of the seats in central agricultural universities including in RLBCAU Jhansi, RPCAU Samastipur, NDRI Karnal and the IARI campuses in Jharkhand and Assam. The quota also extends to four central universities — BHU (15%), AMU (5%), Visva-Bharati (15%) and Nagaland University (20%).

For the current admission cycle, 6,002 AIQ seats have been listed, with the BSc (Hons) Agriculture programme offering the most seats (3,121) and Sericulture having the fewest (22). Last year, ICAR opened its counselling registration on August 7, just ten days after the CUET UG 2024 results were announced on July 28, to fill 5,842 AIQ seats.
