IGNOU Placement Drive In Odisha Secures Jobs For Nearly 300 Students

As many as 298 students of Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) have been shortlisted for various positions during a campus placement drive held in Bhubaneswar.

The drive was organized by IGNOU’s Campus Placement Cell and the Bhubaneswar and Rairangpur regional centres in association with Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) and TATA Steel Foundation.

The placement drive, which saw the participation of 489 students, aimed at providing employment opportunities to youth across STEM and non-STEM sectors.

At least 15 Companies from different sectors such as Axis Bank, TATA Electronics, Foxcon, TAFF, Blinkit, Bajaj Finance Limited, Team Lease Private Limited, Jindal, Big Basket, THK, Quees, SHAHI Garments, Ashmita Holidays, Primitive Health Care, Utkarsh Small Finance, Med Plus and Rashmi Outsourcing took part in the recruitment drive.

Head of IGNOU Regional Centres Bhubaneswar and Rairangpur, Dr MK Dash, addressed the participating students in the inaugural session and emphasised that the skill and internship facility provided by IGNOU will help them in the professional sphere.

Dash said that placement drives of this kind will be conducted periodically.

“The initiative highlights the commitment of IGNOU, CII and TATA Steel Foundation towards strengthening industry-academia linkages and creating effective education-to-employment pathways for Odisha’s youth,” he said.

Ajay Mishra, Head, CII Odisha also addressed the students and wished them the best for their future.
