New Delhi: The Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) will conduct its 34th convocation ceremony in virtual mode on Thursday, April 15. The event will kick off at 11 am. The University will award degrees, certificates and diplomas to over 2,35,000 students.
Union Education Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal ‘Nishank’ will attend the convocation ceremony virtually and deliver the convocation address.
The IGNOU convocation ceremony will be telecast live on IGNOU’s Gyan Darshan Channel, SWAYAM Prabha Channels — channel number 17, 18, 19, 20 managed by IGNOU. It will also be live on the varsity’s Facebook Page www.facebook.com/OfficialPageIGNOU.
The varsity will commence online applications for degrees and certificates. To get the certificates, the students had to pay Rs 600 for each certificate. “The University had decided to collect the fees of Rs 200 for PG certificate, and certificate courses as well. The convocation fee for a Master’s degree, Bachelor’s degree, PhD and diploma courses will be the same as the previous fee of Rs 600 per certificate,” the University was quoted as saying by NDTV.
