While IITs and NITs are among the most popular choices based on placement records for parents and students, IIIT Delhi has also recorded strong placement figures in 2026. A BTech student at the institute received an annual package of Rs 1.22 crore.
According to placement data available on the official website of the Indraprastha Institute of Information Technology (IIIT) Delhi, the highest annual package offered to a BTech student in 2026 was Rs 122.76 lakh, or around Rs 1.22 crore.
For MTech students, the highest package stood at Rs 38.38 lakh. The highest international package was Rs 48.65 lakh.
IIIT Delhi recorded a total of 868 offers during the 2026 placement process. This included 682 full-time job offers and 186 summer internship offers.
The average annual package for BTech students was Rs 20.77 lakh, while the average package for MTech students was Rs 17.05 lakh. The overall average package stood at Rs 19.59 lakh.
BTech students received offers across different salary categories. There were 372 A+ offers with an annual CTC of Rs 12.50 lakh. Another 222 offers were in the A category, with CTCs above Rs 7 lakh and below Rs 12 lakh. There were also 88 B-category offers with CTCs below Rs 7 lakh, of which 60 were later upgraded to the A or A+ category.
Placement rates varied across BTech programmes at IIIT Delhi. Computer Science and Engineering (CSE) recorded the highest placement rate at 98.26%.
The placement rate for CSAM was 94.55%, while CSSS recorded 92.68%. CSAI had a placement rate of 92%, followed by CSB at 91.11%.
The placement rate for EVE was 87.50%, while ECE recorded 69.70%.
A high-salary package is only one factor students should consider while choosing an engineering college. Placement percentage, average salary, course, fees and overall cost of education are also important.
