The students of IIM Sambalpur, Odisha, one of the new generation IIMs (Indian Institute of Management) of the country, kick-started, on Saturday, their three-day annual flagship fest “Ethos’20”, the second edition of the annual business, sports, and cultural fest of Indian Institute of Management Sambalpur (IIM-S).
The event, with the theme “Back to 90s”, was inaugurated in the presence of Prof. Mahadeo Jaiswal, Director, IIM Sambalpur along with Chief Guest, Shri RK Gupta, CEO (Cluster Head) Hindalco and Guest of Honour, Dr. Sukhamaya Swain, Axis Bank Ltd.
Prof Jaiswal said that fests are essential for a student’s overall learning experience as they ignite a competitive spirit within students while uniting them towards a common cause. It also provides them a much-needed break and helps them create newer vistas around their life goals, he added
Ethos’20 provides a platform for all B-school students to showcase their talent and business acumen in a three-day long fest packed with eclectic list of management, cultural and sports events.
More than 8200 applicants from top B-schools of the country, namely, IIT Dhanbad, IIM Ranchi, IIM Vishakhapatnam, NIT Rourkela among others, would be participating in the Fest which is expecting a footfall of over 9000 students between February 1 to 3.
During Ethos’ 20, various clubs of IIM Sambalpur would be conducting their flagship events and sports committee would be conducting e-gaming “Mindbusters”, along with other sporting events. The cultural section would see a fashion show, Ramp Burn and I-Factor and popular Hindi Rock Band is to perform on the second day and music duo- Progressive Brothers, on the third day.
