Bhubaneswar: In order to improve the quality of education in secondary schools, the state government has decided to send a group of selected teachers to undergo training at the Indian Institute of Science (IISc) in Bengaluru.
Sources in the School and Mass Education Department said the selected high school teachers will undergo a 10-day training from November 8 to 17. The training will be imparted from 8 am to 5 pm every day. The teachers must carry the certificate of having taken two doses of COVID-19 vaccines to attend the training.
While the Science and Technology Department will bear the training expenses of the teachers, the School and Mass Education Department will pay for their train travel and daily allowances. The teachers will be paid expenses for travelling in the 3-tier AC Sleeper coach. Those preferring to go by air have to bear their own expenses.
The selected teachers will report at the IISc by November 7 while their family members will not be given the boarding facilities in Bengaluru.
The Directorate of Secondary Education has asked the District Education Officers (DEOs) to send the travel itinerary of the selected teachers in consultation with a senior district-level official by September 25.
