IIT Bhubaneswar: 64th Cong Of ISTAM Kicks Off

Bhubaneswar: The 64th congress of the Indian Society of Theoretical and Applied Mechanics (ISTAM), Indian Society of Theoretical and Applied Mechanics organised by IIT Bhubaneswar, kicked off today.

More than 300 contributory papers have been accepted for oral presentations at the congress with participation from across the globe, IIT Director Prof. R.V. Raja Kumar said.

“The four day long deliberations which brings the brightest of minds in the field of applied mechanics together will definitely lead to fruitful discussions and research collaboration that would benefit the society,” he said.

The School of Mechanical Sciences and School of Basic Sciences (Mathematics) of IIT Bhubaneswar are jointly organising the congress.

Experts and academics of research institutions and industries from India and abroad are will address the congress. The event will immensely benefit the students, academicians, researchers, professionals from various public and private sector and industries, said an IIT Bhubaneswar statement.

The event has been held in the past at all reputed and premier institutes across the country.

Prof. Guirong Liu of the University of Cincinnati, USA graced the occasion as the Chief Guest.
