Bhubaneswar: IIT Bhubaneswar hosted a 14-day online event to celebrate Hindi Pakhwada on the occasion of Hindi Diwas, Rajbhasha Ekak and Abhivyakti.
Organised by the Hindi Literary Society of Students Gymkhana at IIT Bhubaneswar, the program celebrated the importance of Hindi and raised awareness about the use of the language in daily life.
During the closing ceremony of the function on September 14, Director of IIT Bubaneswar Professor RV Rajakumar said, “Hindi is one of the languages spoken all over the country and students should be taught the importance of our national language. We are delighted to have a Hindi Pakhwada on campus because of the ongoing pandemic situation.
“At IIT Bhubaneswar, it is very important to implement the government’s Rajbhasha policy. In India and NEP-2020, we are constantly working towards implementation,” he added.
The popular programmes in the event for the students included “Aawej–Hindi poetry slam”, “Drishtikon–view on different themes”, and “Hindi slogan writing competition”.
Various eminent personalities in the field of Hindi literature such as Prof Devendra Choubey of JNU, Dr Ganapat Teli of Jamia Milia Islamia University, Dr Bhavya Soni of Rajasthan University among others participated in judging the events and gave tips to students for improvement in Hindi language.
