IIT Bhubaneswar Observes Gandhi Birth Anniversy With Cleanliness Drive

Bhubaneswar: IIT Bhubaneswar observed ‘Swachhh Bharat Abhiyan’ on Friday to commemorate the birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi.

In his address on the occasion, IIT Bhubaneswar Director, Prof RV Raja Kumar said, “I urge everybody and IITians, in particular, that they should continue to derive inspiration from this great personality of the Millennium. Prime Minister Narendra Modi gave a clarion call for our commitment towards the “Swachhta” of our motherland starting from our own premises, enabling us to lend our hands in this noble mission. All of us should especially adopt the culture with a favourable mindset and make the concept of ‘Clean and Green India’, a reality.”

Various online competitions were organized for the IIT Bhubaneswar fraternity through the virtual mode including a film festival focusing on Gandhi.

Also, the students, faculty and staff members participated in the cleanliness drive by adhering to safety and social distancing norms.
