Bhubaneswar: The Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) has been revised by the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Bhubaneswar, to ensure there’s no resurgence of COVID-19 on the campus.
The revised SOP has been strictly implemented on the campus from Monday, November 1. According to the IIT-Bhubaneswar website, maintaining social distancing and wearing masks have been made mandatory for all on the campus.
Anyone caught without masks would be fined Rs 500 for the first violation and the penalty would be doubled for subsequent violations. Only fully vaccinated personnel (who has completed 2 weeks of time after taking the second dose) are permitted on the campus.
Single-dose/non-vaccinated personnel will only be allowed for genuine cases which need to be approved by concerned authorities, according to the official notification.
The notice further says that students entering the hostel must undergo an RT-PCR test within 72 hours of arrival on the campus followed by a 7-day quarantine.
“For any positive case that arises during this period, the quarantine period will be extended depending on the situation. This is applicable to those who complete a 7 days quarantine as on 1st November 2021,” read the notice.
