New Delhi: To support innovative start-ups, IIT Delhi has entered into an agreement with Sona Comstar, an automotive major.
The premier tech institute will be given a fund of Rs 80 lakh with an option of retaining the Intellectual Property (IP). IIT said in a statement that this agreement is the “first of its kind industry support programme” in the mobility field.
Sona Comstar’s Chief Technology officer Kiran Deshmukh said the joint efforts “enable the creation of a new IP” and innovative “Make-in-India products”.
“IIT Delhi wants to engage with the industry to strengthen startup programmes in academia as this is a good way to quickly bring new technologies to the market,” IIT Delhi Director Prof. V Ramgopal Rao said via a statement.
