NEW DELHI: The Indian Institute of Technology Guwahati (IIT Guwahati), which will conduct the Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) 2026, has opened the window to edit and modify the application form.
Candidates who have made some errors in the GATE 2026 application form can edit and make the corrections by November 3. The official GATE 2026 websites are gate2026.iitg.ac.in and goaps.iitg.ac.in.
According to the official notification, candidates can modify details such as name, date of birth, exam city, paper, category, and gender by paying an additional fee. The detailed list of permitted changes and corresponding charges has also been released.
A fee of Rs 500 will be charged for corrections related to name, date of birth, choice of examination cities, or existing paper. Changing gender to female will also cost Rs 500.
However, for changing gender from female to any other gender, SC/ ST and PwD candidates will be charged Rs 500, while other candidates will have to pay Rs 1500 (Rs 500 + Rs 1000).
Similarly, changing category to SC/ ST will cost Rs 500, whereas changing from SC/ST to any other category will cost Rs 500 for female or PwD candidates and Rs 1500 for others.
Details such as parents’ or guardian’s address, correspondence address, college name, location, and roll number and qualifying degree can be corrected free of cost.
Candidates are advised to verify all entries carefully during this correction period, as no further modifications will be allowed after the deadline.
In 2026, GATE will be held on February 7, 8, 14 and 15. The application process for the GATE 2026 exam started on August 25. GATE 2026 will be held for a total of 30 test papers. Candidates can appear for one or up to two test papers only.
