Jammu: The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Jammu signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the Indian Army’s Northern Command on Friday for providing innovative solutions via exhaustive research and development in Jammu and Kashmir, according to an official.
Lt Gen S Harimohan Iyer from the Northern Command Headquarters and IIT Jammu Director Manoj Singh Gaur signed on the dotted lines to launch the collaboration.
“The scope of the MoU includes research and product development collaborations, which will empower field units of the Northern Command (Indian Army) with the technical excellence and translational research initiatives of IIT Jammu” the official was quoted as saying by news agency PTI.
This collaboration is aimed at making IIT Jammu a strong resource that can help solve the Indian Army’s unique problems by providing innovative solutions via exhaustive research and development, according to the director.
