New Delhi: The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Kanpur has decided to award grades to the graduating students based on their performance in mid-semester exams or quizzes or assignments or projects.
Besides, the institute has also taken a call to close the current semester amid the distressing circumstances in the country due to COVID-19.
“IIT Kanpur has decided to grant certain credit relaxations to the graduating batch in order to help the students graduate on time. The grading for courses and theses will be completed by June 30,” institute Director Abhay Karandikar tweeted.
Since the closure of the institution has impacted the academics of the students, therefore, the move will help the students especially those in their graduating years, he added.
However, the institute will separately inform the students regarding the decisions and its implementation aspects.
