Aligarh: The Aligarh Muslim University (AMU) is all set to celebrate its centenary in Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s virtual presence on December 22.
The university’s buildings and administrative block along with several gates have been illuminated, depicting the varsity’s rich and unique heritage.
According to AMU public relations officer (PRO) Omar Saleem Peerzada, the celebrations will be held in strict adherence to the safety protocol for the COVID-19 pandemic.
“The vice-chancellor is very grateful to the Prime Minister and education minister for taking out time from their busy schedules to attend the celebration. This is an important day for the university,” Peerzada was quoted as saying by ABP Education.
Webinars, seminars and symposiums have already begun. Union education minister Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank will be present on the occasion as chief guest.
