Chennai: The Tamil Nadu government has set up an inquiry panel headed by Madras High Court’s retired justice R Kalaiyarasan against Anna University Vice-Chancellor MK Surappa on allegations of financial irregularities.
Kalaiyarasan will submit his inquiry report in three months, as per the government order. The state government, which received 6 complaints against the VC, said as it has decided to conduct an inquiry against Surappa as the allegations are of serious nature.
Surappa, however, said he had never taken any bribe in his life while reacting to the development.
Regarding the allegations of hiring his daughter by the University, the VC said she was an intellectual property (IP) specialist working at the Indian Institute of Science.
