New Delhi: From now, international board students will not require prior permission from the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) while seeking admission to the board’s affiliated schools.
The CBSE has made the decision to ease the admission process in the wake of an increased number of families shifting base to India, reported The Indian Express.
“In the post-pandemic period, many families are shifting to India because of various reasons. Therefore, many students studying abroad in foreign boards are joining schools affiliated to the CBSE,” the board said via a notification.
International board students get admission to CBSE schools on the basis of equivalency of classes in both boards. Earlier, international board students had to apply to the CBSE via the school seeking approval for admission based on this equivalency.
“Keeping in mind the current circumstances and problems faced by these students and their families, CBSE has decided that now onward, no such prior approval is required by the students from the Board to seek admission in the schools affiliated to the CBSE,” the CBSE notification added.
