Chandigarh: The international Gita Mahotsav this year will see a total of 55,000 students collectively recite 19 verses from Bhagavad Gita, said an official statement on Thursday.
The international Gita Mahotsav -2020 will be held in Haryana from December 17 to 25. According to the statement, the recitation will be held online at 12 noon on December 25.
A total of 9,000 students will be from Kurukshetra, the venue for the international festival every year, while other students will be from the remaining 21 districts of the state.
“These students will be connected online simultaneously,” the statement added.
The onus is on the Education Department to link all schools with this program, according to news agency PTI.
The secondary education director has written to the education officers of all the districts, district project coordinator, block education officer, and heads of schools urging them to prepare for the programme.
