IP University Introduces ‘Weekend-mode’ PG In Mass Communication

The weekend mode is designed for working professionals who wish to pursue postgraduate studies while continuing with their jobs.

NEW DELHI: Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University (GGSIPU), Delhi, has introduced a postgraduate programme in Mass Communication in weekend mode.

According to an official statement, the programme will be offered at the University School of Mass Communication (USMC), East Campus. The two-year programme will have an intake of 60 seats, with an annual fee of Rs 95,000.

The application form is available on the university website.

A filled form along with a bank draft of Rs 2,500 in favour of the University’s Registrar must be submitted at the University Facility Centre, Dwarka Campus, by September 4.

To be eligible, applicants are required to hold a bachelor’s degree in any discipline. Admission will be based on 70 per cent weightage to marks obtained in the bachelor’s degree and 30 per cent weightage to the interview performance.

The weekend mode is designed for working professionals who wish to pursue postgraduate studies while continuing with their jobs. Candidates holding a diploma in Mass Communication are also eligible for the lateral entry and can complete the programme in one year.

The programme has been introduced in response to long-standing requests from working journalists who were seeking an opportunity to pursue advanced studies without leaving their professional commitments, said Dean of USMC, Durgesh Tripathi.
