JEE Advanced 2021: IIT-Kharagpur Releases Information Brochure, Documents List; Check Details

New Delhi: The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Kharagpur has announced the information brochure and the list of documents needed for the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Advanced 2021.

Aspirants can visit the official site, jeeadv.ac.in, and check the registration details.

The date of JEE (Advanced) 2021 had earlier been deferred due to the prevailing COVID-19 pandemic. The IIT-Kharagpur said in an official statement that the new date will be announced in due course.

“As a consequence, the dates for registration, admission, counselling etc., contained in this document may also be revised,” the statement added.

The dates for various activities regarding JEE Advanced 2021 and AAT presented in the JEE Advanced information brochure’s Annexure-IV will be subsequently updated and the modified schedule will be uploaded on the website.

Eligibility

Aspirants should be in the top 2,50,000 successful candidates (including all categories) in BE/BTech Paper of JEE (Main) 2021. The percentages of different categories of candidates to be picked are: 10 per cent for GEN-EWS, 27 per cent for OBC-NCL, 15 per cent for SC, 7.5 per cent for ST and the remaining 40.5 per cent is open for all. Within each of these five categories, 5 per cent horizontal reservation is available for PwD candidates.

Age Limit

Candidates should have been born on or after October 1, 1996. Age relaxation of five years is given to SC, ST and PwD candidates, i.e., these candidates should have been born on or after October 1, 1991.

Attempts

A candidate can have a maximum of two attempts in consecutive years.

Class XII Board Exam

A candidate should have taken the Class XII (or equivalent) examination for the first time in either 2020 or 2021 with the subjects Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics.

Candidates who had taken the Class XII (or equivalent) examination, for the first time in 2019 or earlier, are not eligible for JEE Advanced 2021.
