JEE Advanced 2021: SAI International Student Tops In Odisha, Wants To Become IAS Officer

Bhubaneswar: SAI International student and Odisha topper Goutam Das qualified the JEE Advanced in the first attempt with a score of 282 out 360 with All India Rank 115.

Having cleared the tough entrance exam, Goutam now wishes to get into IIT-Bombay. He also qualified for NEST 2021 with State Rank 1 and All India Rank 6. He secured 98.6 per cent in Class XII CBSE Board Examination 2021.

Goutam belongs to simple background as his father Ravindra Das is a businessman in Baleswar and mother Madhumita Das a house wife.

He started his preparation with the basic NCERT books then graduated to others. Goutam confessed that he did not have an aspiration to become an engineer but it was his love for Mathematics that made him take the JEE Advanced.

Speaking on his future plans, Goutam said that he wants to pursue graduation in Computer Science and later become an IAS officer to serve the nation.

“I am elated that SAIoneer Goutam Das has secured All India Rank 28 and No. 1 in the state in the IIT JEE Mains 2021. His hard work, perseverance and dedication has reaped fruits of success. He has not only made the school proud but the entire state is proud on his infallible accomplishment. I wish him all the best in his future endeavours,” SAI International Education Group chairperson Dr Silpi Sahoo was quoted as saying in a press release.
