New Delhi: In a change from its earlier January date, the first attempt of the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) 2021 will be held in the last week of February instead, with the application process beginning from December 2020, reported The Times of India.
Ministry of Education (MoE) sources told the national daily that with the postponement of JEE Mains and board exams, other competitive and state board exams are likely to be deferred as well.
Stating that the postponement of JEE 2021 to February will “allow candidates who were not satisfied with the choice of branch”, a senior government official also said that the NTA would need “around 2 months” for preparation of centres so that “exams could be safely delivered.”
In an earlier report by the paper, a senior MoE official said that the CBSE exams too were likely to be pushed beyond February to give candidates additional preparation time, and a revision window for Class XII students post JEE Mains.
