New Delhi: Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU) has warned of strict action against students found violating COVID-19 guidelines.
According to a notice issued by the JNU authorities on Friday, some students were found violating the guidelines by not practicing social distancing, wearing masks and were even reluctant to maintain queues while purchasing essential items.
“Even as the essential service providers of JNU have been working tirelessly to meet the requirements of the university community, and ensuring their safety and security, it has been found that some students are openly flouting the COVID-19 guidelines, even after reminders, thereby putting themselves as well as the entire community at serious health risk,” the notice said.
Besides, the notice also advised students not to violate the lockdown by cycling and walking on roads unnecessarily. Otherwise, the violation will invite strict disciplinary action, it added.
