Bhubaneswar: Online applications have been invited from class XII students by the Odisha School and Mass Education Department for the award of Junior Merit Scholarship 2021-22. Students of CHSE/CBSE/ICSE affiliated schools and Kendriya Vidyalaya can apply for the award.
Scholarships of Rs 3,000 per year will be provided to 10,000 eligible plus-2 students (boys and girls in the ratio of 50.50) from across the state under the scheme.
The detailed guideline of Junior Merit Scholarship 2021-22 has been made available on — https://scholarship.odisha.gov.in.
The online application submission for the scholarship began on Tuesday, February 8 while the last date to submit is February 25.
The Odisha School and Mass Education Department will conduct the opening of student record for validation by principals/heads of institutions from February 9 to 26.
Eligibility Conditions:
The permanent residents of Odisha are permitted to participate.
The income of the parents of the student from all sources should not be more than Rs 6 lakh per annum.
An applicant must have scored 60 per cent in the last qualifying examination (High School Certificate Examination) to be eligible to apply for the scholarship.
Students shall apply for Junior Merit Scholarship only in Class XII.
Under the scheme, only online applications will be accepted and no request for offline application will be entertained, said a notice from the directorate of higher secondary education (DHSE).
According to the DHSE, it is mandatory for the applicants to upload the correct Aadhaar number in the application form. Applications with incorrect Aadhaar numbers will be rejected.
