Kapil Dev To Be The 1st Chancellor Of Haryana Sports University
Chandigarh: Cricketing legend Kapil Dev will be the first chancellor of Haryana Sports University, the establishment of which was cleared in July this year.
The announcement was made by the State Sports Minister Anil Vij in a tweet. Reports quoting him said the former Indian skipper has agreed to head the institute.

Haryana would be the third state in the country after Gujarat and Tamil Nadu to have a university dedicated to sports in the country. The state has produced several outstanding athletes and gold medallists in various games including the Olympics.
On 16th July, Haryana Cabinet approved setting up of Haryana Sports University at Rai in Sonepat district.
Programmes to be offered by the University:
Sports technology, sports medicine, sports management, sports infrastructure engineering, sports psychology, sports nutrition, sports journalism and sports marketing.
