Bangalore: The Karnataka Examinations Authority (KEA) declared the results of Karnataka Common Entrance Test (KCET) exam on Friday.
The entrance test results have been declared in the quickest time of just 21 days. It would have taken a day less but for some technical glitch preventing announcement of results on Thursday itself.
A total of 1,53,470 students came through the entrance test for undergraduate engineering courses, while 1,27,627 students cleared the exam for agriculture courses. Over 1.29 lakh candidates passed the veterinary sciences paper, while 1,29,611 and 1,55,552 students cleared the tests in AYUSH and pharma subjects, respectively.
Despite the coronavirus pandemic, 1.75 lakh candidates appeared for the entrance exam, according to an Indian Express report. Around 20,000 students missed the exams, while 63 COVID-positive students appeared wrote the papers on July 30 and 31, according to KEA.
Eighty students scored full marks in Biology, and three in Chemistry.
Successful candidates will have to get documents verified through an online process. “Mere assignment of ranks does not confirm the right of a candidate to select seats until the original documents are verified,” KEA stated.
Submission of documents for verification begins on September 2 and will go on till September 27.
Successful candidates will have to participate in the counselling process. Based on students’ choice as per their ranks, seats will be allocated in undergraduate courses.
There will be two rounds of counselling, to be held after the NEET and JEE counselling. The dates will be announced in due course.
