Bengaluru: The Karnataka government has decided to release in public domain the answer scripts of last year’s Class X and Class XII toppers.
State Primary and Secondary Education Minister S Suresh Kumar said the answer books will be uploaded on the official websites follow requests from the students, media reports said.
“The web-hosting of answer scrips of meritorious students would help other candidates during the exams,” the Minister was quoted as saying.
Recently, CBSE has also taken a policy decision to make available the answer books of subject toppers for the benefit of class X and class XII students who would be appearing in the board exams next year.
The answer books will make the students understand how to attempt a question paper better, have an idea on how to apply the correct formulae, equations and methods while solving a question, a CBSE official was quoted as saying.
The Delhi government had first initiated the proposal in September this year for CBSE school students.
“Just like sample question papers help students get an idea of the kind of questions that could be asked, sample answer sheets can also be a helpful study material. The idea is not to make students write identical answers by showing them old copies but just to give them an idea on attempting a board examination,” a CBSE teacher said.
