Bengaluru: National Education Policy’s (NEP) 2020 Task force for implementation, headed by former Chief Secretary SV Ranganath, recommended the establishment of Karnataka Education Commission (KEC) to implement the policy smoothly in a decade’s time.
A report in this regard was released here on Saturday by Deputy Chief Minister CN Ashwath Narayan and Primary and Secondary Education Minister S Suresh Kumar. The report stated that Karnataka was the first state to come out with a road map to implement in the next 10 years.
“The KEC will be headed by the Chief Minister and it will meet at least twice a year,” Narayan was quoted as saying by news agency IANS.
The 500-point report on school education and 200 on higher education that the NEP outlines and gives greater clarity on the document, Narayan added.
The Minister also informed that the task force report will be placed in the cabinet for its approval soon.
