Karnataka To Take Call On Reopening Schools After July 5

Bengaluru: The government will take a decision on reopening of schools, which are shut down amid the coronavirus pandemic, after July 5, state education minister S Suresh Kumar said on Monday.

Kumar added that parents, however, have urged the government to reopen schools after August or September.

“No online classes will be conducted for LKG and UKG students. Schools should interact with students on phone twice a week,” the minister was quoted as saying by news agency ANI.

He informed that the Karnataka government has formed an expert committee based on the guidelines laid down by the Centre for Classes I to X.

“Once the committee submits its recommendations, we will decide the next course of action,” he said.
