Kerala Switches To Online Classes For Students Up To Ninth Grade

Thiruvananthapuram: Amid a surge in COVID cases, the Kerala government has decided to suspend offline classes for students up to Class IX till January 21.

The decision to switch classes to online for students in Standard I to IX.was taken in the COVID-19 review meeting chaired by Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan on Friday morning. Students from Class X to Class XII will continue to attend school. 

After a week, the government would review the COVID situation and put off resumption of physical classes for school children up to the ninth grade until the second week of February if the pandemic showed no sign of abating, the Hindu reported.
