Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan (KVS) on Tuesday announced that it will promote the students of class IX and XI who have failed in one or more subjects on the basis of project work keeping the rising number of COVID-19 cases in the country in mind.
The students will be promoted to the next class without having to appear in the supplementary examinations. Priya Thakur, Joint Commissioner, KVS, mentioned in a letter that the supplementary exams are attempted by the student in case they fail in any two of the subjects. However, this time (pandemic) in case of failures in all 5 subjects, they would still be promoted to the next class based on the completion of assigned project by schools, according to media reports.
This is a one-time scenario as schools and educational institutions are closed for over three months now. The Ministry of Home Affairs has also asked schools not to reopen before July 31.
