Ahmedabad: Schools in Gujarat witnessed less than 30 per cent attendance on Day One of reopening after nearly a year’s gap.
Among the Class IX students, only 27 per cent were present while for Class XI, the percentage was 28 on Monday.
Ahmedabad and Vadodara recorded the lowest attendance for Class XI with 16 per cent and 18 per cent, respectively. Dahod recorded the lowest Class IX attendance at 9 per cent.
The lack of transportation facilities was blamed for the poor attendance of the students.
Tuition classes for competitive exams also resumed in the state on the same day.
