Mumbai: State minister Amit Deshmukh on Monday said the fee of students who might have benefitted by the Maratha reservation in admission to medical colleges is likely to be reimbursed, reported Business Insider.
Coming in light of the Supreme Court (SC) stay order on the Maratha quota, Deshmukh said that his department will move a proposal before the state cabinet to seek concessions in admission to medical institutes.
Talking to a TV channel, he said, “…this (fee reimbursement) could be an option and the proposal will be moved before the cabinet by the medical education department.”
Adding that the Maha Vikas Aghadi government, including Shiv Sena, NCP and Congress, will ensure the welfare of Maratha students, he also said that Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray will take the final call after a cabinet discussion.
