New Delhi: The Union Human Resource Development (MHRD) Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal on Thursday released NCERT’s alternative academic calendar for Classes I to XII.
The new academic calendar provides guidelines to teachers for imparting education using various technological and social media tools to encourage learners to study even when at home, said the minister.
The calendar also guides teachers to guide parents and students through SMS or phone calls where the learners don’t have an internet connection at home.
The calendar covers all the subjects and has links for audio books, radio programmes and video programme to assist specially-abled children
Interesting and challenging activities, with reference to theme or chapter from the textbook are also included in the calendar.
The new academic calendar will be disseminated through DTH channels and also by conducting video conferencing with SCERTs, Directorates of Education, SCERTs, Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan, Navodaya Vidyalaya Samiti, CBSE, State School Education Boards, etc.
