Mumbai University To Conduct Final Year Exams Online In MCQ Format

Mumbai: Mumbai University (MU) has announced that it will conduct the final year examinations in multiple-choice questions (MCQ) format. The university held several meetings on Saturday to come to the conclusion that the exams will be conducted online, to be appeared from home by the student in MCQ format.

The MCQ based online examinations are reportedly going to be an hour-long of 50 marks. The pattern is likely to be followed by ATKT (allowed to keep term) as well. The practical exam and viva voice would also be conducted online – either through a phone call or via any of the available digital platforms, reported Times Now.

The varsity is yet to release the date sheet. However, several media reports claim that the practical exams will start from September 15, while backlog papers for final year students will be conducted between September 25 -30. Theory exams are likely to be held between October 1 and 17.

The decision comes after months of wait and confusion over Mumbai University’s final year examinations. The Supreme Court had upheld the University Grants Commission (UGC) Guidelines and made it mandatory for examinations to be conducted for a degree.

However, Pune University’s – SPPU has already conducted the exams.
