Mumbai: Mumbai University (MU) has cautioned that the results of more than 3,000 students could be withheld unless affiliated colleges urgently complete pending eligibility formalities.
According to an official notification, 3,014 students admitted to degree programmes in the 2024–25 academic year remain under scrutiny. These students had cleared their Class 12 examinations from boards other than the Maharashtra State Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education, but their eligibility verification has not yet been finalised.
The university has published a college‑wise list of affected students across 370 affiliated institutions on its website. Colleges have been instructed to check the list, submit the required documents to the Admission, Registration, Eligibility and Migration Certificate (AEEM) department, and complete verification procedures without delay.
MU has emphasised that the responsibility lies squarely with the colleges, not the students. Institutions must ensure that all documentation is verified and eligibility status confirmed. Failure to do so could result in students’ results being marked under “RPV” status, effectively placing them on hold.
“If the eligibility process is not completed, the responsibility for withheld results will rest entirely with the respective college,” the notification stated.
The directive underscores the importance of compliance with admission procedures and places the onus on colleges to safeguard students’ academic progression. MU has urged both institutions and students to act swiftly, warning that unresolved formalities could disrupt the timely declaration of examination results.
