National Education Policy Aims 100% Literacy By 2030: Union Education Minister
New Delhi: The Union Minister for Education Ramesh Pokhriyal ‘Nishank’ on Tuesday said that with National Education Policy the government is aiming at 100 per cent literacy in India by 2030.
He took to Twitter and wrote, “In line with Hon’ble PM Shri @narendramodi Ji’s vision, @EduMinOfIndia’s latest scheme, ‘Padhna Likhna Abhiyan’ aims to achieve 100% Literacy by 2030. Students will be encouraged to teach elderly people in their areas.”

Earlier, the Union Education Ministry organised a conference, titled ‘Role of NEP-2020 in transforming higher education’ on September 7. It was attended by President Ram Nath Kovind, Education Minister Pokhriyal, education ministers of all states and other senior officials.
