The National Council of Education Research and Training (NCERT) has announced the conduct of admissions to its one-year ‘Diploma Course in Guidance and Counselling – 2020’.
- Who are eligible to apply?
The course is open to teachers, teacher educators, school administrators and untrained guidance personnel. - Admissions to eligible candidates will be offered in NCERT New Delhi and its Regional Institute of Educations at Ajmer, Bhopal, Bhubaneswar, Mysore and Shillong.
The maximum number of seats in each centre will be 50.
According to the admission notice, government deputed candidates will be given preference.
About the programme:
The course aims at enhancing the skills and competencies of teachers to promote the holistic development of the students and handle their academic, socio-emotional, and ethical problems.
- The course will be transacted in three phases such as:
Distance mode (six months; January – June, 2020)
Face-to-face contact programme at respective study centres (three months; July – September, 2020).
Internship in home town (three months; October – December, 2020).
Selection:
Screening of candidates will be done by a committee based on the selection criteria. Shortlisted candidates will be called at the study centre in their region for selection test which includes essay writing and interview.
Course fee:
Candidates deputed from centrally funded organisations — Rs 19,500
Government deputed candidates from the states — Rs 6000
Private candidates — Rs 30,000
