New Delhi: Almost 35,000 undergraduate and postgraduate students appeared for the Delhi University’s (DU) online open-book exams on Monday. There were no technical glitches reported, the officials said.
According to the officials, all the 35,000 students uploaded their answer sheets using the portal and there were no email submissions on the first day of the exams on Monday.
Last year, students had complained of technical issues when the OBE was held for the first time. Some had also said they were battling COVID-19 in the family and would not be prepared for the exams, but according to Rawat, most of the students wanted to complete their academics.
Third-year BA student Arpita said she didn’t face any issues while submitting the answer sheets. “The process went off smoothly. One of our classmates encountered issues while uploading the answer sheets but in the end he was also able to upload those,” she was quoted as saying by news agency PTI.
Shashwat Verma, who appeared for the exam from his hometown in Kanpur, said, “OBE is a time-taking process. The question paper takes a couple of minutes to download and after finishing the exam, clicking the photos of each page, converting those into the PDF format and uploading takes time. The internet speed also poses issues. But whatever said, the OBE was smoother this time as compared to the last time.”
