New Initiatives Under NEP Will Strengthen Online Education Platforms And Assist Students: SOA Vice-Chancellor

Bhubaneswar: Siksha ‘O’ Anusandhan (SOA) Vice-Chancellor Prof. Ashok Kumar Mahapatra welcomed fresh initiatives under the New Education Policy (NEP) launched a year ago, and said that the launching of National Digital Education Architecture (NDEAR) and National Education Technology Forum (NETF) will further strengthen online education platforms and assist students.

Prof. Mahapatra, who attended Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s address through a video conference, said students of higher education would be able to take advantage of the Academic Bank of Credit announced by the PM on Thursday.

Prof. Mahapatra said SOA had already aligned itself to the new initiatives by adopting online teaching methods in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic which disrupted classroom teaching. He added that SOA has been using the SWAYAM and MODULE platforms for uninterrupted teaching for its students.

He said videos have been uploaded on these platforms to facilitate teaching.

SOA, he added, always strived to promote universal human value system, holistic development and yoga — elements given importance in the NEP – with the university becoming the study destination of a large number of foreign students in recent years.

Pro-Vice Chancellor Prof. Pradipta Kumar Nanda, Additional Dean (Research) Prof. Priyabrata Pattnaik and Online Coordinator Asst Prof. Anish Wunnava also attended the PM’s video conference.
