NHA Collaborates With IIT-Delhi To Strengthen India’s COVID Response

New Delhi: In order to meet India’s growing healthcare needs, the National Health Authority (NHA) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Indian Institute of Technology-Delhi.

The collaboration is aimed at recognising the role of innovations to strengthen India’s response and preparedness to the COVID-19 crisis. A Technical Support Unit managed by IPE Global is implementing the initiative. IIT-Delhi serves as SAMRIDH’s hosting entity.

The NHA and IIT-Delhi will support innovative solutions to address the AB PM-JAY ecosystem’s needs and priorities.

This joint effort will be crucial in supporting the rapid scaling and absorption of health innovations across more than 23,000 PM-JAY empanelled medical facilities, reported news agency PTI.

“Through this partnership, we will work with diverse health sector players to scale high potential health solutions and amplify the impact of Ayushman Bharat PM-JAY. I am extremely confident that in the years to come, this partnership will be a key enabler in making quality healthcare services in India more accessible and affordable,” NHA CEO, RS Sharma was quoted as saying by the agency.

IIT-Delhi director, Prof V Ramgopal Rao spoke on the scope of the partnership. “We welcome this opportunity to work with the NHA to deconstruct the key challenges in delivering healthcare services across PM-JAY empanelled health facilities, and support enterprises in addressing the gaps with indigenous innovations,” Rao said.
