Amravati: The National Institute of Technology (NIT), Andhra Pradesh, achieved a record high placement for the batch of 2020-21 academic session. A total of 78 per cent of students received job offers.
The institute saw an increase of 8.8 per cent from last year’s 70.62 per cent placement from the NIT. The entire placement process was held online this year on account of the COVID-19 crisis in the country.
Larsen & Toubro, Deloitte, Accenture, TCS, Infosys, ADP, Cognizant and Modak Analytics were the top recruiters this year. The maximum annual package of Rs 16 lakh was offered, while the average annual package was Rs 6.47 lakh.
“Placements provide students with an opportunity to test their employability skills for current industry requirements. Further, the exercise allows them to assess their confidence levels and decision-making progress towards their professional career,” NIT Andhra Pradesh director CSP Rao was quoted as saying by ABP Education.
“During the pandemic, every company hired fewer numbers than the previous years. But reaching out to more companies helped NIT Andhra Pradesh secure a good number of placements,” NIT’s associate dean (Training and Placements), Karthikeya Sharma said.
