Bhubaneswar: The Odisha government has approved the new examination rules for the Plus II streams framed by the Council of Higher Secondary Education (CHSE).
The new examination rules are as follows:
—There will be six internal examinations and two annual examinations for the students.
—Each internal examination having a 45-minute duration will be conducted every three months.
—Each internal examination will carry 20 marks with six short questions of one mark each, four questions of two marks each and three questions of four marks each.
— The students will answer all six short questions of one mark each, three out of four questions of two marks each and two out of three questions of four marks each.
—Before the commencement of the internal examination, the students will be given an extra five minutes to go through all the questions.
—The annual examination of the first-year students will be conducted at the college level while the CHSE will conduct the final year board examination.
—The Junior colleges and Higher Secondary schools conducting the first-year annual examination and the internal examinations for the first-year and second-year students will send the marks secured by the students online to the CHSE which will keep them on record for alternative assessment if there is a pandemic like situation.
—The final year board examination will be based on the syllabus of the second year.
—Considering the COVID-19 pandemic and a delay in the commencement of the academic session, the CHSE has slashed 30% of courses from the syllabus.
