Cuttack: The Odisha government, via a notification on December 7, approved the filling of 972 DP lecturer posts in state’s non-government aided colleges, across different subjects, while also mentioning the details of the vacancies.

Eligibility and Fees:
Those who wish to apply must be between 21 to 42 years old, with SC/ST/Socially and Educationally Backward Classes (SEBC)/Women candidates get a relaxation of five years, PwD candidates with 40 per cent or more disability get 10 years relaxation.
The application fee for general candidates is Rs 500, and Rs 200 for SC/ST/PwD and has to be deposited in any branch of SBI India as an online transfer in favour of State Selection Board (SSB).
Educational qualifications:
A Master’s Degree in the relevant subject with at least 55 per cent marks or equivalent grade, while SC/ST/PwD/SEBC candidates require only 50 per cent.
Selection procedure:
A multiple-choice questions (MCQ) written test for 150 marks, and 25 marks for the career and viva-voce test. In order to qualify, general candidates must secure 40 per cent in the written exam, while SC/ST/PwD/SEBC candidates need 30 per cent.
The notice states that candidates will be called by the SSB “in order of merit equal to 03 times the number of vacancies in any subject if the number of vacancies is between ‘above 05’ and ‘below 100’.” For vacancies up to 03, 10 candidates, and 15 candidates for vacancies between 03 and 05 will be called for the SSB’s viva-voce test.
The decision of the SSB will be ‘final and binding’ in the matter of selection, states the notice.
