Jharsuguda: The Odisha government is planning to set up nursing colleges in 10 districts, Health and Family Welfare Minister Naba Kishore Das said on Monday.
The minister informed that the government has taken up a proposal to establish a 60-seat nursing college each in Mayurbhanj, Balangir, Koraput, Balasore, Jharsuguda, Puri, Sundargarh, Angul, Keonjhar and Jajpur districts.
“Apart from this, the government will also reopen the nursing colleges in three state-run medical colleges,” Das added.
He stated that the government is giving utmost priority to strengthening the health infrastructure in view of the possible onset of the third wave of COVID-19. As part of this, a heart hospital will become operational in Jharsuguda and oxygen plants will be set up in all district headquarters hospitals this year, he added.
