Bhubaneswar: Having conducted offline classes for Class X and XII students, Odisha government chose to reopen classes IX and XI from Monday, February 8. Classes will be conducted in adherence to COVID-19 guidelines.
The school and mass education department, via a notification, stated that regular classroom teaching for Classes IX and XI students will be conducted from 8.30 am to 10.30 am six days a week. Classes will be held between February 8 and April 30.
According to the notification, three periods will be conducted in those two hours’ time with no reccess, reported news agency PTI.
However, the timing of the starting of classes can be rescheduled by taking account of local weather conditions.
The timing for Class X will be rescheduled from 11 am to 4 pm. There will be seven periods daily and a recess break from 1.40 pm to 2.10 pm. Students of Class X will also attend school on Sundays.
For Classes IX and XI, there will be one unit test in the second week of March. The annual examination will be conducted in the last week of April.
It may be recalled that the government had reopened schools for students of classes X and XII on January 8 following a nine-month closure due to COVID-19 pandemic.
