New Delhi: Union Minister Jitendra Singh said on Thursday the Common Eligibility Test (CET) for government jobs recruitment is expected to be held in September this year.
According to Singh, the National Recruitment Agency (NRA) for conducting the CET has been formed and approved by the Cabinet.
“As a major boon for the youth, particularly the government job aspirants, a Common Eligibility Test (CET) will be conducted across the country from this year to screen and shortlist candidates for recruitment to central government jobs,” the Minister of State for Personnel was quoted as saying by news agency PTI.
The first such exam is expected to be conducted later in 2021, probably around September or so, he told the agency over the phone.
Singh said the Department of Personnel & Training’s (DoPT) “path-breaking transformational reform” was possible due to the personal intervention of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and his concern for the youth.
