Angul: OP Jindal School, Angul, observed the National Unity Day 2021 with floral tributes before the portrait of the “Iron Man of India” Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel on Sunday.
To mark the occasion, the school organised Cyclothon, Brisk-walking, Jogging and other activities for its students, parents and JSPL employees residing inside the Jindal Nagar township.
Swati Thakur, Babita Modi and Tapaswini Mallick claimed the first, second and third positions in the brisk-walk competition in the mothers’ category. Vikram Sahu, Ashish Kumar Singh and Raj Kumar Chawla bagged the first, second and third positions in Jogging, according to a press release.
Similarly, Shravani Bisen, Tanishi Goel and Sugandha won the top three positions in the Cyclothon event for girls. Shiva Rajput, Vansh and Sahitya Yadav were the podium finishers in the boys’ Cyclothon.
Principal, O.P Jindal School, Atanu Rath, felicitated the winners with trophies and certificates. Headmistress, Sangeeta Sharma, acknowledged the support from every corner to make the day memorable.
The programme was organised by adhering to all the safety measures and the necessary COVID-19 protocols.
