Pune: Savitribai Phule Pune University (SPPU) students have alleged that several questions in the final year examinations that were held online recently, were out of the syllabus and a few were from different subjects.
Posting their grievance on social media, the examinees have requested the SPPU examination department to either reconduct the exams or award marks for the ‘out of the syllabus’ questions.
“In my recent exam for the subject Product Design and Development (PDD), the online exam should have been till Unit 4 as per the syllabus. But, around 80 per cent of the MCQs were asked from Units 5 and 6. This will result in poor grades for students and will affect their careers as well,” a student told Punekar News.
“We have requested the administration to look into the matter”, said another student who took the PDD exam.
On his part, SSPU’s Director of Examination and Evaluation, Mahesh Kakade said, “We had verified every question with the Department before publishing. However, there is a possibility of out of syllabus questions. I am not denying the fact. Therefore, we have given extra questions, as well. So, if any students have to raise complaints. We request them to connect with us.”
